Arthritis
Arthritis is one of the most debilitating conditions on the
face of the earth.
From the swollen,
unsightly joints to trouble sleeping, to difficulty living your
life as it should be lived,
arthritis is certainly a bit more than the nuisance most
doctors and health care practitioners claim it is.
is arthritis, really? Scientists suggest that
arthritis, at its very core, is simply an inflammation of a
joint. There are many causes of arthritis, and there are many
variations on the condition.
Arthritis can
be caused by a bacterial infection deep within the joint. It
can also be caused by repeated joint injury or use. Whatever
the cause, though, the result is always pain.
Humans, apparently, aren't the only ones who suffer from
this terrible condition. Scientists discovered the condition we
call arthritis in examining the ankle joints of dinosaur
fossils. They have also found the condition in various joints
of the human body dating as far back as 3000 BC. It is likely,
though, at that time, that the condition was treated as most
were, with the healing roots and herbs of the time. In 1899,
the Bayer company developed an arthritis remedy that is still
used today – aspirin.
Today's arthritis remedies differ very little from those of
1899. In most cases, scientists suggest that a simple pain
reliever is all that can be done to help arthritis sufferers.
However, in many cases, depending on your specific arthritis
condition, it may be possible to take advanced pain relievers
or use options like surgery, therapy, or herbal options to
treat the problem. Consult your doctor if you think you may
suffer from arthritis. He will be able to complete some blood
tests and other screening options to see if you suffer from one
of the many forms. He or she can then suggest the best course
of action for you arthritis problems.
